Celebration for Gold Medalists
The athletes of the Indian Women Beach Kabaddi Team, Simran Kamboj and Nikita Chauhan, received a heartfelt reception at the Sports Authority of India's National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) in Dharamshala. This warm welcome followed their impressive gold medal victories at the 6th Asian Beach Games held in China.
Representing India, Simran Kamboj from Punjab and Nikita Chauhan from Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh, showcased their skills in the tournament that took place from April 22 to April 30, securing gold medals for their outstanding performances in Kabaddi.
Simran Kamboj's Reflections on Victory
In an interview, Simran Kamboj expressed her gratitude for the warm reception from the Sports Authority of India in Dharamshala. She emphasized that winning the gold medal serves as a significant motivation for the team to strive for excellence and continue representing India in future competitions.
"We are truly touched by the warm welcome we received today. The gold medal inspires us all to improve and represent India in the future," she stated.
Nikita Chauhan's Insights on the Experience
Nikita Chauhan, another gold medalist, described her experience at the Asian Beach Games as both challenging and enriching, contributing to her growth as an athlete. She highlighted that this achievement fuels her passion for the sport and encourages the youth to engage in sports for enhanced physical and mental well-being.
"I believe I have evolved into a better player. Competing for India at the Asian Beach Games and winning gold was a significant challenge, but we learned immensely from it. I urge the younger generation to participate in sports to maintain their health and fitness, both physically and mentally," Nikita remarked.
Future Prospects
Additionally, it is noteworthy that five athletes from SAI's NCOE have been selected to participate in the upcoming Asian Games.
