Indian Street Premier League Season 3 Unveils Massive Prize Pool of Rs 5.92 Crore
Overview of the Prize Pool
The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) is making waves in grassroots cricket with its announcement of a substantial prize pool of Rs 5.92 crore for its third season. This initiative underscores the league's commitment to nurturing emerging talent and providing opportunities within the sport.
Details on Player Rewards
As India's first tennis-ball T10 league, ISPL is transforming the grassroots cricket landscape by ensuring players receive recognition and rewards for their performances. The champions of Season 3 will earn Rs 2 crore, while the runners-up will take home Rs 1 crore. Additionally, the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) will be awarded a brand-new Porsche 911, marking a significant individual accolade in Indian sports.
Throughout the season, players will be recognized with Man of the Match awards of Rs 50,000 for each of the 44 matches, totaling Rs 22 lakh.
Fan engagement is also prioritized, with Fan of the Match awards worth Rs 20,000 per game, culminating in Rs 8.8 lakh. Outstanding performances in the final will be acknowledged with awards of Rs 2.5 lakh each for the Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Best Fielder.
Leadership and Vision of the League
The ISPL Core Committee, which includes notable figures such as Sachin Tendulkar, Ashish Shelar, Minal Amol Kale, and Suraj Samat, is dedicated to fostering opportunities, inclusion, and professional development for grassroots cricketers.
Suraj Samat, a member of the Core Committee and League Commissioner, stated, "ISPL was established with a clear mission to provide grassroots cricketers with financial stability, recognition, and a platform for growth. The record signing of Vijay Pawle for Rs 32.50 lakh exemplifies the value placed on grassroots talent. Our prize pool of nearly Rs 6 crore demonstrates our dedication to rewarding players not only for winning but also for their consistent contributions and match-winning performances throughout the season. This framework enables players to aspire for greater achievements, earn through their skills, and view grassroots cricket as a legitimate career path."
Auction Records and Financial Impact
Earlier this month, ISPL achieved a significant milestone during the Season 3 player auction, where franchises collectively spent around Rs 10 crore. Notably, Vijay Pawle became the most expensive player in the league's history, being acquired by the defending champions, Majhi Mumbai, for Rs 32.50 lakh, reflecting the increasing financial value attributed to grassroots talent.
With revenue generated from auctions, match awards, and seasonal prizes, ISPL has established itself as a major financial force within the Indian grassroots sports sector.
