The Indian men's squash team has secured a medal for the country by defeating Kuwait 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Asian Games 2026 held in Aichi-Nagoya on Wednesday. According to reports, India, the defending champions, will face Malaysia in the semifinals.

India showcased their dominance in the team event, as indicated by the 2-0 victory. Veer Chotrani initiated the win by overcoming Bader Almoghrebi with a score of 3-1 (12-10, 8-11, 11-0, 11-5). Following this, Abhay Singh triumphed against Ammar Al-Tamimi with a clean 3-0 (11-3, 11-4, 11-8) victory.

Women's Team Also Secures Medal

The Indian women's squash team has also clinched a medal at the Asian Games 2026, winning against Singapore 2-0 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. The opponent for India's semifinal match is yet to be determined.

The team secured their place on the podium with ease, as Tanvi Khanna and Anahat Singh won the first two singles matches. Tanvi Khanna started strong by defeating Wai Iynn Au Yeong 3-1 in a competitive match, with scores of 11-6, 5-11, 15-13, 11-1, showcasing her resilience after losing the second game.

Anahat Singh then confirmed India's victory with a commanding 3-0 win over Wai Yhann Au Yeong, winning the match with scores of 11-7, 11-3, 11-4, propelling India into the semifinals.

This victory adds another medal to India's squash achievements at the Asian Games 2026, highlighting the women's team's impressive performance in the sport.
