Strong Performances in Men's Quarterfinals

In a remarkable display at the JSW Indian Open, Indian athletes excelled in both the men's and women's quarterfinals, securing spots in the semifinals. Second seed Abhay Singh and fourth seed Veer Chotrani showcased their skills with commanding victories.

Singh is set to face Malaysia's Ameeshenraj Chandaran in the semifinals, while Chotrani will compete against another Malaysian player, Sanjay Jeeva. Jeeva advanced after a decisive 3-0 win over Egypt's Ibrahim El Kabbani, while Chandaran triumphed over compatriot Duncan Lee.

Singh demonstrated his prowess by defeating Egypt's Yassin Shohdy with a score of 3-1. He started strong, taking the first game 11-8, but Shohdy fought back to win the second game 11-7. However, Singh regained control, winning the next two games 11-5 and 11-7 to secure his semifinal spot.

Chotrani also delivered an impressive performance, defeating Egypt's Mohamed Sharaf 3-0. Although Sharaf put up a fight, especially in the first two games, Chotrani's resilience allowed him to clinch the match comfortably.

Women's Quarterfinals Highlights

In the women's singles, top seed Anahat Singh and unseeded Tanvi Khanna both advanced to the semifinals, ensuring a strong Indian presence. Unfortunately, local favorite Joshna Chinappa was eliminated after a 1-3 loss to Egypt's Nadien El Hammamy.

In another thrilling quarterfinal, second seed Hana Moataz narrowly defeated eighth seed Yasshmita Jadishkumar of Malaysia in a five-game match, winning 3-2.
