He has since made a name for himself as a national youth cycling champion, earning numerous gold medals. “I was named David Beckham because my dad admired him greatly. He is the greatest footballer of all time,” Elkatohchoongo shared. “Having this name is a privilege. David Beckham is a global icon, and everyone recognizes him. However, people often doubt my name until they see my passport.”

Ronaldo's Story

On the other hand, Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam's name is inspired by the Brazilian football star Ronaldinho, a favorite of his father. The name was chosen during a pivotal moment in the 2002 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal when Ronaldinho scored a memorable free kick against England. At that time, Ronaldo's father received news that his wife was in labor, leading to the decision on his son's name.
