Indian Boxers Advance to Semifinals

On Wednesday, Indian boxers Manish Rathore, Hitesh, and Abhinash Jamwal delivered impressive performances to secure their spots in the semifinals of the World Boxing Cup held in Brazil. Competing in the 65kg division, Jamwal achieved a unanimous decision victory over Germany's Denis Bril. Similarly, Hitesh triumphed in the 70kg category against Italy's Gabriele Guidi Rontani, also by unanimous decision.


In the 55kg weight class, Rathore faced off against Australia's Paris Olympian Yusuf Chothia. The match was closely contested throughout all three rounds, with Rathore ultimately winning as three judges favored him, while two others scored it evenly.


Looking ahead to the semifinals, Rathore is set to compete against Kazakhstan's Nursultan Altynbek, Hitesh will challenge Makan Traore, and Jamwal aims to defeat Gianluigi Malanga from Italy.
