India Withdraws from Semi-Final Match Against Pakistan in World Championship of Legends

In a decisive move, the India Champions have opted out of their semi-final match against the Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends. Scheduled for July 31, the Indian team cited national sentiments and a recent terrorist attack as reasons for their refusal to compete. This decision follows earlier objections regarding the match, leading to the cancellation of a previous group stage encounter. The tournament's sponsor, EasMyTrip, has also withdrawn its support, aligning with the sentiments of the Indian public. This development highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding cricket matches between the two nations.

India Champions Refuse to Compete Against Pakistan

In a significant turn of events, the India Champions have once again declined to face the Pakistan Champions in the semi-finals of the World Championship of Legends. This match was scheduled for Thursday, July 31. The Indian team has expressed their unwillingness to engage in any competition against Pakistan, citing the country's stance against bilateral sports relations following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

On Tuesday, the India Champions secured their spot in the semi-finals by defeating the West Indies Champions in just 13.2 overs. However, they had previously raised objections regarding the match against Pakistan. Earlier, a group stage match between India and Pakistan was also canceled due to protests from players and a key tournament sponsor.

The semi-final was set to take place at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Thursday. The tournament's sponsor, a company named EasMyTrip, has also distanced itself from the semi-final match. Co-founder Nishant Pitti stated that they are stepping back from the match to honor the sentiments of the Indian public, emphasizing that terrorism and cricket cannot coexist.
