India Claims Victory in the Inaugural ADCA T20i Asia Cup
Cuttack: The inaugural ADCA T20i Asia Cup 2026 concluded on Wednesday at Barabati Stadium, with Team India securing a six-wicket victory over the Sri Lanka Deaf team, thus claiming the first-ever Asia Cup trophy. The tournament showcased remarkable performances, starting with India’s initial match where they triumphed over Sri Lanka by 4 wickets, followed by a commanding 10-wicket win against Nepal. Sri Lanka also had a victory against Nepal, winning by 6 wickets in their third match.
In the rematch, Sri Lanka dominated Nepal, winning by 157 runs. India then edged out Sri Lanka with a narrow 1-run victory before sealing their place in the finals with a decisive 9-wicket win against Nepal. Sai Akaash from India was named Player of the Match for his impressive all-round display, scoring 27 runs off 14 balls and taking two vital wickets. Gimadu L Malkam from Sri Lanka shone throughout the series, earning the best batter award with a total of 196 runs, while his teammate Gihan Lasidu D’ Silva was recognized as the best bowler with 10 wickets. Malkam also received the player of the series title for his exceptional contributions, which included 196 runs and seven wickets.
