India-Brazil Football Friendly: High Demand for Tickets Ahead of Historic Match
Excitement Builds for India-Brazil Football Clash
The anticipation surrounding the upcoming friendly match between India and Brazil is palpable among Indian football enthusiasts, with tickets for the October 3 event experiencing a surge in demand.
Prices for tickets available online range from Rs 3,500 to Rs 25,000. This match, set to take place in Kolkata, marks the first-ever encounter between these two teams on Indian soil. It will also be significant as Brazil, currently ranked fifth in the FIFA world rankings, represents the highest-ranked opponent India has faced since the rankings were established in 1992.
According to the online ticketing platform, sales commenced on September 3, and already, half of the tickets have been sold. Approximately 63 percent of the total seating capacity has been opened to the public, translating to around 40,000 tickets available for purchase. The more affordable tickets, starting at Rs 999, were snapped up almost instantly.
This match will be India's inaugural FIFA Tier 1 international fixture against Brazil, followed by another friendly against Uruguay on October 6 in Kolkata. Brazil's team is expected to arrive in Kolkata on September 30 after playing two friendlies in Australia.
Brazil's head coach Carlo Ancelotti has announced a 26-member squad that includes stars like Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid and Raphinha from Barcelona. Meanwhile, India's head coach Khalid Jamil has also named a 26-member squad for the friendlies, featuring key players such as Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Anwar Ali, Anirudh Thapa, Sahal Abdul Samad, and Manvir Singh.
Amrit Saini from Hoshiarpur expressed excitement, stating, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Unlike Cricket World Cup matches, tickets are readily available online. Our group of four has already made arrangements to witness the match live."
