India's Men's Test Squad Unveiled for England Tour

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the men's Test squad for the upcoming five-match series against England, commencing on June 20. This tour signifies the beginning of the new ICC World Test Championship cycle for 2025–27 and marks India's first red-ball series following the retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from Test cricket.



This squad announcement comes at a pivotal moment as India seeks to strengthen its Test lineup, particularly in light of the absence of two of their most seasoned batsmen. The series will be vital for the emerging players, focusing on both leadership roles and overall squad depth as they embark on their journey for the 2025–27 championship cycle.



The eagerly awaited tour will kick off at Headingley and will feature matches at renowned English venues such as Lord’s, Edgbaston, and The Oval.

  1. 1st Test: June 20–24 – Headingley, Leeds

  2. 2nd Test: July 2–6 – Edgbaston, Birmingham

  3. 3rd Test: July 10–14 – Lord’s, London

Shubman Gill Appointed as Captain for England Test Series



Shubman Gill has been appointed as the captain of the Indian Test team, succeeding Rohit Sharma, who recently announced his retirement. The 25-year-old made his Test debut in 2020 against Australia in Melbourne and has since played 32 matches, accumulating 1,893 runs at an average of 35.05, including five centuries and seven half-centuries.
