Hong Kong Slam: A Landmark Event for Pickleball

Hong Kong is set to host the most significant professional pickleball tournament ever in Asia, known as the Hong Kong Slam, which will wrap up the 2026 PPA Tour Asia season from October 19 to 25. Organizers have announced that this major event will feature an unprecedented prize pool of up to USD 1.1 million and will award 1,500 PPA ranking points, making it the most rewarding stop on the newly launched 10-event calendar spanning seven Asian countries.

The Hong Kong Slam will be the tenth and final event of the 2026 season, marking it as the highlight of a rapidly growing tour. It will also provide players with the unique chance to earn the last piece of the season's interlocking medals, known as the 'roaring dragon head.'

In addition to high-level professional matches, the tournament will incorporate the PPA Tour Asia’s signature format, 'Play Where the Pros Play,' allowing amateur participants to compete on the same courts in various age and skill categories alongside professional players.

Kimberly Koh, Managing Director of UPA Asia, stated that the expanded schedule reflects the sport's growing popularity in the region. 'We’re expanding into new cities and bringing the PPA experience to more players — both Pros and Amateurs — across the region,' Koh remarked. She emphasized that with top athletes, enthusiastic fans, and world-class entertainment, the Hong Kong Slam promises to be a spectacular conclusion to a remarkable year for professional pickleball in Asia.

The 2026 PPA Tour Asia season will kick off with the MB Hanoi Cup from April 1 to 5, featuring a prize fund of USD 300,000. Other confirmed events include the Kuala Lumpur Open, Macao Open, two China Open tournaments, and stops in Tokyo, Singapore, and Ho Chi Minh City, culminating in the grand finale in Hong Kong in September.
