Kakamigahara, June 3: The Indian women's hockey team showcased an extraordinary performance, overwhelming Singapore with a staggering score of 25-0 in their final Pool A match of the Hockey U18 Asia Cup. This victory secured them the top spot in their pool, allowing them to advance to the semifinals with an unbeaten record.


India's offensive prowess was on full display as ten players contributed to the scoreline. Leading the charge was Nousheen Naz, who netted an impressive seven goals (8', 13', 17', 18', 40', 52', 58'). Geethasri Nammi, who earned the title of ‘Player of the Match’, added five goals (13', 28', 47', 48', 60'), while captain Sweety Kujur scored four times (2', 24', 38', 45').


Priyanka Minz also made her mark with a hat-trick (22', 37', 53'), and other contributors included Diya (27'), Nancy Saroha (36'), Shruti Kumari (40'), Pushpa Manjhi (47'), Rashmeen Kaur (47'), and Sandeepa Kumari (51'), rounding off a remarkable team effort.


From the outset, India demonstrated their intent, with captain Sweety scoring just two minutes into the match. Nousheen quickly followed up with a goal in the eighth minute, and both Geethasri and Nousheen struck again in the 13th minute, solidifying India's control.


In the second quarter, the Indian squad continued to dominate, with Nousheen scoring two rapid goals. Priyanka and Sweety further extended the lead before halftime.


The scoring spree continued after the break, with Diya and Geethasri finding the net early in the third quarter. Nancy, Priyanka, Sweety, Nousheen, and Shruti all contributed to the dismantling of Singapore's defense.


In the final quarter, India maintained their momentum, adding ten more goals to their tally. Sweety reached her four-goal milestone, Geethasri completed her five-goal performance, and Nousheen capped off her remarkable outing with seven goals. Pushpa, Rashmeen, Sandeepa, and Priyanka also scored, marking one of the most dominant performances at the U18 level.


With victories against Malaysia, Korea, and Singapore, India topped Pool A with a perfect record and nine points. Their semifinal opponent will be determined after the conclusion of the Pool B matches later today.
