Exciting Matches on Day 3 of the Championship

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India] - On July 30, the third day of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship showcased impressive performances from Hockey Bengal and Telangana Hockey, both of whom secured victories against Goans Hockey and Hockey Himachal in their Division 'B' encounters.


The opening match featured a closely contested battle between Hockey Bengal and Goans Hockey. The deadlock was finally broken in the third quarter when Munna Kumar Singh (37') converted a penalty corner, putting Hockey Bengal ahead, as reported by Hockey India.


However, Goans Hockey quickly responded, leveling the score just five minutes later with a field goal from Ansh Ankush Gaonkar (42'), concluding the third quarter at 1-1.


The final quarter saw intense action, with Hockey Bengal's Shivam Rabidas (47') regaining the lead for his team, followed shortly by Hiten Rajak (49'), who extended their advantage with another penalty corner goal. Although Sahil Pramod Jambotkar (54') managed to narrow the gap for Goans Hockey, Suvam Patra (57') sealed the match for Hockey Bengal with a penalty corner, resulting in a final score of 4-2.


In the second match, Telangana Hockey started strong, with Amit Dayal (11') and Sairam Chouhan (14') scoring early to establish a two-goal lead in the first quarter. Hockey Himachal fought back valiantly in the second quarter, preventing Telangana from increasing their lead. Sidhant Kaushal (33') scored for Hockey Himachal in the second half, giving them hope as they entered the final quarter. Despite their efforts, Telangana Hockey's early goals proved decisive, and they ultimately won the match 2-1.
