Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Remarkable Debut


Manchester: In a thrilling encounter on Saturday, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first against England in the second T20I match. This game marked a significant milestone as 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his international debut.


Sooryavanshi, a left-handed opener, took the place of Sanju Samson in the only alteration to India's lineup.


At just 15 years and 99 days old, he has now become the youngest player to represent India in international cricket, breaking the previous record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who debuted at 16 years and 205 days against Pakistan in 1989.


On the other hand, England made two adjustments to their squad, introducing Jofra Archer and giving a debut to pacer Josh Tongue.


The first T20I at Chester-le-Street was unfortunately called off due to rain after India had scored 189 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
