Himachal Pradesh Governor Celebrates Young Shooters' Triumph at National Competition
Recognition for Young Shooting Stars
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 20: On Tuesday, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kavinder Gupta, honored two talented shooters from Delhi Public School (DPS) in Jammu for their remarkable achievements at the India Open National-Level Shooting Competition.
Expressing his pride in their accomplishments, he noted that these young athletes have brought honor to their school, families, and the entire state. The athletes recognized during this event were 12-year-old Kumari Dharya Kotwal and Master Lakshya Chetan Wazir.
Kumari Dharya Kotwal showcased an impressive performance in the 10m Air Rifle Sub-Youth and Youth categories, amassing a total of 415.3 points and clinching two gold medals. The Governor remarked that achieving such success at a young age highlights her extraordinary talent, dedication, and relentless determination.
Master Lakshya Chetan Wazir also excelled at the national level, finishing fourth in the Sub-Youth category with a score of 409.7 points.
The Governor noted that their dedication and competitive spirit indicate promising futures in the sports arena. He encouraged the youth to engage in sports with commitment and enthusiasm, stressing that success on both national and international stages is attainable through persistent practice and strong will.
Kavinder Gupta stated, “Our young athletes represent the future of our nation. Their accomplishments inspire other youth. We must foster a sports culture and support talented athletes.”
He also congratulated the parents and coaches of the athletes, acknowledging their vital roles in these achievements.
