Klaasen's Historic Achievement

Heinrich Klaasen, the explosive batter for Sunrisers Hyderabad, has etched his name in the record books by surpassing Rishabh Pant's record for the most runs scored by a player batting at number four or lower in a single IPL season. The 34-year-old South African has accumulated a remarkable 606 runs this season, becoming the first player to exceed the 600-run threshold in this batting position. He eclipsed Pant's previous record of 579 runs set in 2018 while playing for Delhi Capitals. Riyan Parag follows in third place with 573 runs for Rajasthan Royals in the 2024 season, while Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell round out the top five with 538 and 513 runs, respectively.


Joining the Elite Club of SRH

In addition to his record-breaking runs, Klaasen has also become the fifth player in Sunrisers Hyderabad's history to reach 2000 runs for the franchise. David Warner leads the pack with 4014 runs, followed by Shikhar Dhawan with 2678 runs, Abhishek Sharma with 2316 runs, and Kane Williamson with 2101 runs. Klaasen's current tally stands at 2020 runs for SRH.


Match Overview and Current Standings

In their final league match, SRH chose to bat first, scoring an impressive 255/4. Key contributions came from Abhishek Sharma (56 runs off 22 balls), Heinrich Klaasen (51 runs off 24 balls), and Ishan Kishan (79 runs off 46 balls).
