Message to Young Cricketers

Harsh Dubey, recently selected for India's ODI and Test teams for the upcoming series against Afghanistan, has shared an inspiring message for aspiring cricketers. He emphasizes the importance of dedication and honesty in their pursuits.

Advice Rooted in Discipline

At just 23 years old, Dubey noted that many young players in Vidarbha look up to seasoned athletes for motivation. He advises them to remain disciplined and committed, stating, "Always give your best, whether in cricket, academics, or any other field. Invest your time fully, as that's the only way to achieve results."

Living in the Moment

As he continues to rise in domestic cricket, Dubey prefers to concentrate on the present rather than future milestones. He mentioned, "I don’t have specific plans; I focus on what I can accomplish today. Even when asked about the 2027 World Cup, I prefer not to overthink or pressure myself by looking too far ahead."

Record-Setting Domestic Performance

Dubey made headlines during the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, where he took 69 wickets, setting a new record for the most wickets in a single season, surpassing Ashutosh Aman’s previous record of 68. In the following season, he claimed 14 wickets in three matches and led Vidarbha to their first Vijay Hazare Trophy victory.

Recognizing Parental Support

The young cricketer expressed gratitude towards his parents for their sacrifices throughout his journey, stating, "My parents have been my biggest supporters, sacrificing their personal lives for my success. Their efforts are finally bearing fruit today."
