Harry Kane Offers Support to England Cricket Amid Controversy
Kane Steps In During Cricket Controversy
Harry Kane, the captain of the England football team, has extended his support to the England cricket team amidst the ongoing nightclub incident involving Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson. Both players are under investigation by the England Cricket Board (ECB), although specific details about the incident have not been disclosed. In light of the situation, Kane expressed his willingness to assist, stating on X, "Always ready if needed, @englandcricket & @RCBTweets." He also posted images showcasing his batting and leg-spin bowling skills with a non-leather ball.
The controversy arose after Stokes and Atkinson were seen at a bar in London following England's victory over New Zealand at Lord's. As of now, the squad for the second Test match has not been announced, which is set to commence on June 17.
Reports suggest that Stokes is contemplating retirement from international cricket, and he may lose his captaincy even if he decides to continue playing. Atkinson, who excelled in the recent match, took seven wickets, including a five-wicket haul in the final innings, helping to dismiss New Zealand for 138 while chasing a target of 254.
