Vijay Dahiya, the assistant coach of Gujarat Titans (GT), has expressed admiration for captain Shubman Gill, highlighting his exceptional leadership skills and cricketing acumen as they prepare for their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

When asked about Gill's captaincy and his ability to inspire confidence within the team, Dahiya refrained from rating him, noting that the Indian cricket team has already recognized his capabilities. He stated, "I don't need to evaluate him. India has already appointed him as the Test captain, so I am not in a position to judge. He is phenomenal and a keen learner of the game, which is exactly what you want to see," during the pre-match press briefing.

Support for Rashid Khan's Consistency

Dahiya also voiced his support for Rashid Khan, labeling the Afghan cricketer as a "champion bowler" whose reliability across various formats and leagues makes him a standout performer in international cricket.

Ahead of the IPL encounter with LSG, Dahiya emphasized that Rashid's long-standing excellence has created high expectations, often leading to a perception that even a decent season falls short. He remarked, "Rashid is a player who doesn't need to change his game. Sustaining performance over time is challenging, yet he has excelled in every condition and league,".

He further explained that such consistent success raises the bar for expectations. "When you have a normal season, people might think he underperformed. Sometimes, you end up working harder on your own expectations," he added.

Dahiya also praised Rashid's unwavering dedication on the field, noting his intense commitment in all aspects of the game. "Whenever Rashid is on the field, he gives 100%, whether it's batting, bowling, or fielding," he stated.
