Overview of Indian Golfers' Performance

Gaganjeet Bhullar faced a challenging conclusion at the International Series held in Singapore, finishing with a score of 2-over 73, which placed him tied for 26th. Earlier in the week, he had shown promise at the Sentosa Golf Club.

Performance Highlights

Bhullar, a four-time IGPL champion and 11-time Asian Tour victor, started strong with a birdie on the second hole. However, he struggled over the next seven holes, dropping four shots. On the back nine, he managed to birdie the 10th, 17th, and 18th holes but also recorded a double bogey on the 15th, resulting in his final score of 73.

Another notable Indian golfer, Pukhraj Singh Gill, achieved his best score of the week with a 4-under 67, featuring five birdies and one bogey, which also placed him tied for 26th alongside Bhullar. Karandeep Kochhar, the only other Indian to make the cut, finished in 70th place with a score of 76.

Jeongwoo Ham's Dominant Victory

Korean golfer Jeongwoo Ham maintained his lead for the fourth consecutive day, carding a 3-under 68 to secure a wire-to-wire victory. He faced stiff competition from Australia's Cameron John, who shot a 66 on the final day.

Ham concluded the tournament with a total score of 16-under, finishing two shots ahead of John. Both players, along with Spain's Josele Ballester, Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond, and Japan's Tomohiro Ishizaka, who shared third place, have qualified for this summer's Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, as this event is part of the Open Qualifying Series.

Impact of Weather on Final Day

Weather conditions played a significant role on the final day, as oppressive heat and humidity gave way to dark skies. Play was halted at 11:47 AM for over three and a half hours due to lightning.

Ham's victory marks him as the second Korean to win this event, following Younghan Song's triumph in 2016, where he defeated then-world number one Jordan Spieth on the same course.

Upcoming Asian Tour Event

The Asian Tour will continue with the GS Caltex Maekyung Open next week, one of Korea's most esteemed tournaments. This 45th edition will take place at Namseoul Country Club, located south of Seoul.
