I-League 2 2026 Season Details
The schedule for the I-League 2, which represents the third tier of Indian men's football, was revealed on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. The league is set to kick off on March 27, 2026, featuring two matches on the inaugural day, and will wrap up on May 15, 2026. Fans can check the complete fixture list for more details.
On the opening day, Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC will compete against Sudeva Delhi FC at the KASA Stadium in Diphu, while GMSC will take on Sporting Club Bengaluru at the Cooperage Stadium in Mumbai.
This season will see nine teams competing in I-League 2 2025-26, following a home-and-away, single-round-robin format. Each team will face all others once, with four matches played at home and four away. The top two teams will earn promotion to the Indian Football League for the 2026-27 season, while the ninth-placed team, along with Sports Academy Tirur (which has withdrawn from the league), will be relegated to I-League 3 for the 2026-27 season.
The nine teams participating include two clubs that were relegated from I-League 2024-25: Delhi FC and Sporting Club Bengaluru. Additionally, two clubs promoted from I-League 3 2024-25 are GMSC and Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC. The four existing teams from I-League 2 2024-25 are United SC, NEROCA FC, Sporting Clube de Goa, and FC Bengaluru United. Sudeva Delhi FC has been reinstated to I-League 2 following a decision by the AIFF Executive Committee. TRAU FC and KLASA FC were relegated from I-League 2 2024-25 after finishing in the eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
