Domino's Offers $1 Million in Free Pizzas After Balogun's Red Card in World Cup Match
Domino's Emergency Pizza Initiative
In a generous move, the popular fast-food chain Domino's has announced it will distribute $1 million worth of complimentary 'Emergency Pizzas' following the red card issued to USA striker Folarin Balogun during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. This initiative was previously declared before the tournament, not a recent announcement. Back in May, Domino's pledged to give away $1 million in emergency pizzas based on the national team's performance in the World Cup. They committed to providing over 60,000 free medium pizzas if any U.S. player received a red card, which has now happened.
Fortunately, despite the setback of a red card, the USA managed to avoid elimination. Malik Tillman scored a crucial goal from a free kick in the 82nd minute, securing the team's place in the Round of 16 after Balogun's dismissal in the second half. USA fans can now enjoy complimentary pizzas as they celebrate their team's first knockout victory in 24 years.
Special Promotions from Domino's
"Domino's is preparing for the biggest soccer events this summer with more than just free Emergency Pizzas; we are also offering exclusive merchandise! If any U.S. player receives a red card during the tournament, Domino's will help ease the disappointment by giving away $1 million worth of Emergency Pizzas. Additionally, to celebrate the matches, we have launched a limited-edition line of cobranded merchandise with Saturdays Football, featuring jerseys, caps, and slides, available at [saturdaysfootball.com/dominos](https://saturdaysfootball.com/dominos)," stated Domino's in a press release prior to the tournament.
Balogun had already scored his third goal of the tournament while leading the USA in the Round of 32 match before his red card. However, depending on the officials' interpretation of the foul that led to his dismissal against Bosnia and Herzegovina, he may miss two or more upcoming games.
