Fit India and Simple Steps Fitness Unite for a National Initiative

The Union Sports Ministry's prominent initiative, Fit India, has partnered with Pune's Simple Steps Fitness to launch 'Dawn2Dusk', a 64-day nationwide movement spearheaded by ultra-runner and Fit India ambassador Ashish Kasodekar.

This initiative commenced on November 24 in Arunachal Pradesh, marking the location where India first witnesses sunrise. It is scheduled to conclude on Republic Day 2026 at Guhar Moti in Gujarat, the site of the country's last sunset, according to a statement from SAI Media.

With a shared goal of promoting unity, community engagement, resilience, and a healthier, more sustainable India, this movement aligns with Fit India's vision and the Mission LiFE initiative advocating for eco-friendly living. Participants are encouraged to adopt fitness as a daily routine while also being mindful of environmental stewardship.

This collaboration is anticipated to enhance the Fit India mission by integrating fitness into daily life, promoting tree planting, raising environmental awareness across the nation, fostering community connections through inclusive participation, and nurturing a culture of health, movement, and mindfulness.

Ashish Kasodekar, a Fit India influencer recognized for his Guinness World Record of completing 60 marathons in 60 days and his challenging 555-km La Ultra achievement, is covering various states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. This initiative follows the success of his 'Low2High' campaign in 2023, which motivated millions to collectively achieve 76 lakh kilometers of activity in 76 days.

Throughout the 64-day journey, Dawn2Dusk aims to plant 76,000 trees in collaboration with the Grow Tree Foundation and collectively track 7,60,000 kilometers of running and walking as citizens from across the country participate from their respective locations.
