Finn Allen's Century Secures Win for KKR

In a thrilling match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Finn Allen's remarkable 100 not out off just 47 balls propelled the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to an impressive eight-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals (DC) during the IPL 2026 on Friday.

Chasing a target of 143 runs, Allen's explosive innings featured 10 sixes and five fours, while Cameron Green contributed a solid 33 runs off 27 balls, leading KKR to triumph with 34 balls to spare.

The innings began with openers Ajinkya Rahane (13) and Allen quickly putting runs on the board, reaching 29/1 in just 2.5 overs. However, Rahane was run out by Mitchell Starc on the last ball of the third over, followed by Axar Patel dismissing Angkrish Raghuvanshi in the next over, leaving KKR at 32/2.

Despite the early setbacks, Allen unleashed a powerful display of batting. He reached his half-century in 32 balls, hitting a six off Starc in the 11th over, with KKR at 86/2.

Allen's assault continued as he hit three consecutive sixes off Vipraj Nigam in the 12th over and followed it up with two more sixes off Kuldeep Yadav. With just three runs needed for victory, Green took a single to allow Allen to face the next delivery. Allen, on 94*, smashed a massive six to complete his first IPL century, sealing the match for KKR.

On the bowling front for DC, Axar Patel (1/27 in 4 overs) and Lungi Ngidi (0/7 in 2 overs) were the standout performers. This victory marked KKR's fourth consecutive win in the IPL season, placing them seventh on the points table with four wins from ten matches.

DC's Batting Struggles After Strong Start

Earlier in the match, Delhi Capitals batted first after KKR won the toss. Openers KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka started strong, scoring freely against KKR's spinners Anukul Roy and Sunil Narine, maintaining nearly 10 runs per over. However, KL Rahul's aggressive attempt to dominate Kartik Tyagi led to his dismissal for 23 runs off 14 balls, leaving DC at 49/1 after five overs.

By the end of the powerplay, DC had reached 55/1, with Nissanka (31*) and Nitish Rana (1*) at the crease. Nissanka continued to play aggressively, hitting Green for a six and a four, but the Australian all-rounder struck back by dismissing Nitish for just eight runs, reducing DC to 74/2.
