The family of renowned Indian rally driver Hari Singh is set to hold a prayer meeting in Chandigarh on March 30, following the conclusion of a week-long search operation in the Maldives. Hari Singh went missing after a tragic speedboat accident near Felidhoo Island on March 19. Despite extensive efforts by both Maldivian and Indian authorities, no trace of him or former naval officer Mahesh Ramachandran was found. Friends and associates of Singh are returning home, while his family seeks solace in remembrance during the prayer meeting.
 

Prayer Meeting Scheduled for Hari Singh

The family of renowned Indian rally driver Hari Singh will conduct a prayer meeting (Antim Ardaas) on March 30 (Monday) in Chandigarh. This follows the decision by Maldivian authorities to end a search operation that lasted over a week, aimed at locating him after he went missing due to a tragic speedboat accident near Felidhoo Island on March 19. A collaborative effort between Maldivian and Indian officials was initiated to find Hari Singh and former naval officer commander Mahesh Ramachandran. Despite extending the search beyond the usual 72 hours and utilizing drones and light aircraft, no evidence of the two men was discovered, leading to the operation's conclusion.

Final Prayer Meeting in Chandigarh

In Chandigarh, with hope dwindling, Hari Singh’s family has organized a final prayer meeting at a Gurdwara on March 30 to honor one of India’s most esteemed rally drivers. SPS Gharcha, the President of the Chandigarh Motorsport Association and a close associate of Singh, expressed his dismay at the lack of progress in the search, stating that not a single clue had been found. The search operation was officially called off on March 28, and Singh’s friends, who participated in the search, are now returning home. Gharcha remarked, “For me, he is missing and not dead.”
