The tournament will feature 64 matches across eight host cities, starting with Brazil's opening match at the iconic Maracanã Stadium. FIFA Reveals Exciting Match Schedule for Women's World Cup 2027

On August 20, FIFA disclosed the match schedule for the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, which will take place in Brazil across eight vibrant host cities. The announcement was made during a live draw event at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, where the preliminary phase of the tournament was also discussed.


Brazil, the host nation, will kick off their tournament journey at the famous Estadio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro on June 24. Their second group match is set for June 29 at Arena Itaquera in São Paulo, followed by their final group-stage game at Estadio Nacional in Brasilia on July 4.


Each of the eight host cities is scheduled to host a minimum of seven matches, including at least one knockout round match.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed excitement about the tournament, stating, "We can’t wait to witness a new chapter of women’s football history unfold when the world’s best players, coaches, fans, and local communities take center stage in Brazil next year." He added that he anticipates the vibrant energy and passion Brazilian fans will bring to the event.


Matches will be held in Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Recife, and Salvador during the Round of 16, while Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza will join Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo for the quarter-finals.


São Paulo is set to host one semi-final and the Bronze Final, while the other semi-final and the championship match will take place at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro.


Notably, the Maracanã will become the third stadium in history to host both a FIFA World Cup final and a FIFA Women’s World Cup final, joining the ranks of Rasunda Stadium in Sweden and the Rose Bowl in the USA.


Additionally, FIFA Fan Festivals will be organized throughout Brazil, allowing fans to engage with the tournament festivities.
