Federico Valverde to Miss El Clasico Due to Injury
Valverde's Injury Ahead of El Clasico
Madrid [Spain], May 8: Real Madrid has announced that Federico Valverde will not participate in the upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona due to a diagnosis of cranioencephalic trauma. This unfortunate news follows an incident involving Valverde and teammate Aurelien Tchouameni during a training session.
The altercation occurred on Thursday, just a day after another incident between the two players during Wednesday's practice. Valverde sustained a cut on his forehead and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
Real Madrid later confirmed that the Uruguayan midfielder will need a recovery period of 10 to 14 days. "Following examinations conducted by our medical team, Fede Valverde has been diagnosed with cranioencephalic trauma. He is currently at home in stable condition and will require rest for the next 10 to 14 days as per medical guidelines," the club stated.
Additionally, the club has initiated disciplinary actions against both Valverde and Tchouameni. "The club will reveal the outcomes of these cases once the internal review process is complete," stated the LaLiga team.
This injury poses a significant challenge for Real Madrid as they prepare for their crucial La Liga match against Barcelona on May 11. Currently, Los Blancos sit in second place with 77 points, trailing the Blaugrana, who lead with 88 points.
