Exciting Start to 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship

The 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship has officially begun in Chennai, with several teams showcasing their skills. Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh all celebrated victories in their opening matches, highlighting the competitive spirit of young athletes. Thrilling Matches Mark the Championship's Opening

The 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship commenced in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with an impressive display of talent as teams from Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh all secured victories in their opening matches.


In the tournament's inaugural match, Jammu & Kashmir triumphed over Raj with a decisive 4-0 scoreline in Division 'C'. Gurkirat Singh set the tone early by scoring in the 5th minute, followed by goals from Varunpreet Singh (37'), Jasjot Singh (49'), and Daksh Sharma (57'), ensuring a comfortable win.


Next, the Hockey Association of Bihar faced off against Hockey Mizoram, winning 2-1 in Division 'C'. Ajay Kushwaha (15') and Amritanshu Pandey (56') found the net for Bihar, while Laldampuia Pachuau (26') scored a consolation goal for Mizoram.


Hockey Uttarakhand also had a strong showing, defeating Tripura 4-0 in Division 'C'. Krishna made a significant impact by scoring twice in the first quarter (3', 7'), with Ankit (4') and Captain Sarthak Mahar (6') contributing to the scoreline early on.


In Division 'B', Hockey Gujarat claimed a 5-1 victory over Hockey Arunachal. Divyeshbhai Rudhyanbai Wagh was a standout performer, netting two goals (49', 53'), supported by Vijay Parmar (40'), Captain Piyush Patel (50'), and Sandeep Parmar (58'). Shashank Kumar (56') managed to score for Arunachal but it wasn't enough to change the outcome.


Chhattisgarh Hockey also made their mark with a 4-0 win against Goans Hockey in Division 'B'. Aadrsh Raj Singh scored twice (26', 59'), while Gulshan Kumar Yadav (12') and Manish Vatti (34') added to the tally, marking a successful start for Chhattisgarh.
