Thrilling Opening Round

The AM Green IGPL Krishna Invitational 2026 kicked off at the Hyderabad Golf Association course on Thursday, showcasing an impressive performance from five players who all finished the first round at 5-under 65. Among them were four-time AM Green IGPL champion Gaganjeet Bhullar, rising star Aryan Roopa Anand, former Indian Open winner C Muniyappa, Rohit Baisoya, and Joshua Grenville-Wood from the UAE, who made his IGPL debut. With 16 players within two strokes of the leaders, the competition remains wide open with two days left.


Team Competition Intensifies

After the initial rounds, the Krishna Punjab Raptors and Vimtra Chennai Lions GC are tied for the team lead at 9-under. Bhullar led the Chennai team, while Muniyappa was the standout for Punjab Raptors. All four players from Chennai finished under par, with Bhullar at 5-under, followed by Samarth Dwivedi and Yashas Chandra at 4-under, and Harshjeet Sethi at 3-under. For Punjab Raptors, Muniyappa also scored 5-under, with Harendra Gupta at 4-under and Karandeep Kochhar at 3-under. The two best scores from each team will contribute to the team competition.

Chasing Pack

Trailing just one stroke behind the leaders, four players are tied at 4-under 66. Samarth Dwivedi was among them, having been in the lead for much of the day before dropping a shot on the 17th. He is joined by Harendra Gupta, Yashas Chandra, and Ravi Kumar, who is in his first IGPL season. Pukhraj Singh Gill, after a rocky start, recovered to card a 3-under 67, tying for 10th with several others, including leading female player Vani Kapoor.
