With a total of 10 men's teams and 6 women's teams competing, the event promises thrilling matches and a showcase of emerging talent. National Rugby 15s Championship Set to Thrill Fans


Bhubaneswar: The National Rugby 15s Championship - Division 1 is gearing up for its much-anticipated return, uniting the nation’s premier men’s and women’s rugby clubs for an exhilarating week of competition at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.


This event, organized by the Indian Rugby Football Union with assistance from the Sports and Youth Services Department and the Odisha Rugby Football Association, is scheduled to take place from March 7 to 13.


The championship will showcase 10 teams in the men's division and 6 in the women's division, featuring renowned rugby clubs such as Bombay Gymkhana and Calcutta Cricket & Football Club, alongside rising stars in Indian club rugby.


In the men's category, the competing teams include Delhi Hurricanes, Future Hope Harlequins, CC&FC, KISS RC, Rebels Rugby Club, Bombay Gymkhana, Sergeant Institute, Bangalore Rugby Club, Delhi Lions, and Odisha RC.


The women's division will see teams like Odisha RC, Delhi Hurricanes, Future Hope Harlequins, CC&FC, Rugby Warriors Kerala, and Chandigarh United, promising thrilling encounters as they vie for the championship title. This tournament stands as India's premier club rugby event, providing a vital platform for budding players to demonstrate their abilities and secure spots in the national 15s team.


With scouts and national selectors observing closely, the championship plays a crucial role in nurturing India's rugby talent. In the last edition held in 2024, Odisha RFC claimed victory in the women's category, while Delhi Hurricanes took home the title in the men's division.
