Introduction to SMASH

SMASH, an innovative dining and entertainment venue inspired by pickleball, is preparing to launch in Youngsville at Sugar Mill Pond, located at 2822 Bonin Road. This new establishment aims to merge the excitement of America’s fastest-growing sport with culinary delights, recreation, and community events all in one place. In a conversation with a local news outlet, SMASH CEO Aaron Dulin emphasized that the venue has been thoughtfully designed to foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

The restaurant will be fully ADA-compliant, featuring a spacious 3,000-square-foot indoor dining area, along with a 1,200-square-foot covered patio that is climate-controlled. Additionally, a 5,000-square-foot outdoor turf space will be available for dining, private gatherings, family-friendly activities, and even pet-friendly events.

SMASH is set to be more than just a dining spot; it aims to become a community hub that embraces the growing pickleball culture across the nation. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for March 10, marking the official debut of the Youngsville location.

In preparation for the launch, SMASH has started the hiring process for various non-management roles, including servers, hostesses, bartenders, and line cooks, as they gear up for operations.

Future Expansion Plans

Plans for expansion are already underway, with Dulin announcing a second SMASH location at 2905 Kaliste Saloom Road, which will occupy the former Lafayette Health Club site. This new venue is expected to open as soon as Fall 2026.

As the popularity of pickleball continues to rise across the United States, SMASH is dedicated to creating a space where sport, food, and social entertainment converge, allowing guests to enjoy meals, play, and connect with one another.
