WWE has revealed an exciting takeover week in Tampa, Florida, culminating in the NXT Battleground 2025 premium live event. This event will take place alongside Saturday Night’s Main Event, Monday Night Raw, and a weekly episode of NXT, all scheduled over four consecutive nights. During the latest episode of NXT aired on The CW, several match announcements were made for the upcoming PLE.

Myles Borne triumphed in a 25-Man Battle Royal on the May 6 episode of NXT, earning him a shot at the NXT Championship against Oba Femi at NXT Battleground 2025. Notably, Elias, now known as Elijah in TNA, made his return to WWE television during this match.

Borne's teammate from the No Quarter Catch Crew, Charlie Dempsey, attempted to claim the title shot for himself, asserting his leadership within the faction. However, Borne managed to maneuver Dempsey into a challenging situation during a backstage segment, where Oba Femi was also present. This segment confirmed Borne's title shot for NXT Battleground 2025, while Dempsey is set to face Femi in a non-title match next week on WWE NXT.

In the main event of NXT, Jordynne Grace secured her position as the new number-one contender for Stephanie Vaquer’s NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Giulia. Grace executed a powerful back elbow followed by the Juggernaut Driver to clinch the victory. The episode concluded with a faceoff between the Champion and Challenger in the ring.

Currently, Joe Hendry and Trick Williams are engaged in a feud that has seen them appear on both TNA and NXT shows recently. This rivalry prompted NXT GM Ava to officially schedule the TNA Championship match for NXT Battleground 2025, where Hendry will defend his title against Trick.
