Anvitha Narender's Absence and Strong Competition

Anvitha Narender, last week's champion, will not participate in the eighth leg of the Women's Pro Golf Tour at Bengaluru Golf Club. However, the competition remains fierce with a total of 57 players, including 12 amateurs, set to compete. The tournament boasts a prize pool of ₹17 lakh, featuring notable players such as Vani Kapoor, the 2025 Order of Merit winner, who narrowly missed victory in a play-off last week in Mysuru. Other seasoned competitors include Tvesa Malik, Ridhima Dilawari, Amandeep Drall, Neha Tripathi, Vidhatri Urs, and Seher Atwal.

Vani Kapoor: The Favorite Among Veterans

Among the participants, Vani Kapoor stands out as a strong contender, having secured five victories in 2025. She is expected to lead the charge, but the presence of several younger players adds an element of unpredictability to the event.

Emerging Talents and Amateurs Ready to Compete

The younger generation of golfers, including Mannat Brar, Heena Kang, and Jahanvi Bakshi, are poised to challenge the veterans. Additionally, promising amateurs like Zara Anand and Mahreen Bhatia will also be competing this week. Last week, Anvitha managed to outplay Vani Kapoor in a thrilling second play-off hole, while young amateur Ananyaa Sood and Riya Jadon, who finished third, showcased impressive performances.

The strength of Indian women's golf continues to rise, with many professionals participating in the Ladies European Tour and the LET Access Tour. This blend of youth and experience has significantly enhanced the competitive landscape of the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour, which has been thriving for nearly two decades.
