Excitement Builds for the Second Edition of the Indian Pickleball League
Anticipation for New Talent in IPBL
As the second season of the Indian Pickleball League (IPBL) approaches, there is an increasing expectation that this year's competition will introduce new talent. The inaugural season last year featured standout performances from players such as Arjun Singh, Rakshikha Ravi, Naomi Amalsadiwala, Shreya Chakraborty, Aditya Ruhela, Harsh Mehta, Stavya Bhasin, Amol Ramchandani, and Pearl Amalsadiwala, who captivated pickleball enthusiasts across India.
Arjun Singh, who played for Bengaluru Blasters last season, emerged as the most reliable Indian male player. His achievements include securing a spot on India's junior team for the upcoming Pickleball World Cup after clinching the Under-18 Boys' Singles title at the Junior Pickleball Championship. He further showcased his skills by winning the Pro Men's Singles title at the Picklebay Zonals - North, which served as the senior selection trials for the World Cup team.
In the lead-up to 2026, numerous players have consistently demonstrated their abilities, enhancing their prospects for IPBL contracts. A source involved in the scouting for the league's six franchises disclosed a list of nine promising young athletes who are being closely monitored and may soon secure contracts. These players include Purvansh Patel, Arunava Majumder, Agnimitra Bhattacharya, Ronav Motiani, Dev Shah, Anish Frolian, Raaquib Merchant, Vilaser Khate, and Rasheen Samuel.
With teams actively scouting and evaluating player performances to assemble competitive squads, the Lucknow Leopards Championship, a PWR 700 event scheduled at Bennett University on August 22-23, along with the Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, Vietnam, starting August 30, will provide crucial insights ahead of the auction. In a recent interview, Bengaluru Blasters CEO Vasanth Kalyan shared the list of players the franchise is tracking this season. Additionally, the Blasters have offered Arunava, the Most Valuable Player of the Kerala Open, a sponsorship package for the World Cup, contingent upon his selection for the prestigious event.
