The anticipation for a transformative chapter in European cricket has officially started. The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) announced its schedule for the inaugural season, which will take place from August 26 to September 20, 2026. The matches will be held at two prestigious venues: Voorburg Cricket Club in the Netherlands and Malahide Cricket Club in Ireland.
Opening Match and Venue Information
The ETPL's first season, spearheaded by Abhishek Bachchan, will kick off with an exciting opening match at Voorburg Cricket Club in The Hague. The Rotterdam Dockers, featuring stars like Jonty Rhodes and Faf du Plessis, will compete against the Amsterdam Flames, led by Steve Waugh and Jamie Dwyer. Following the initial matches in Voorburg, the tournament will transition to Malahide for the remaining league games, including the Qualifier and the Final, where the first ETPL champions will be crowned.

Over the course of 26 days, 32 matches will feature six teams from across Europe vying for the league's inaugural title. This season will showcase a mix of global cricketing icons and top European talent. Notable players include Tim David, Steve Smith, Ravichandran Ashwin, Faf du Plessis, and many others, alongside leading European players like Paul Stirling and Scott Edwards.
Tournament Format and Finals
The tournament will adopt a round-robin format, where each franchise will face every other team twice. The top team on the league table will secure a direct spot in the Final, while the second and third-placed teams will compete in the Qualifier for the last championship spot.
