The incident reportedly took place while the gear was being moved from the team's pre-tournament training location in Florida to Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, where they are scheduled to begin training upon their arrival on Saturday.

Local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the incident as a theft.

According to a statement from the police, "We are looking into a potential theft of equipment from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with items missing this evening," as reported by a news outlet.

"The investigation is ongoing, and two individuals of interest have been detained for further questioning."

It is believed that various footballs and boots were stolen after the vehicle transporting the equipment was broken into, as per the news report.

This incident comes just days before England's World Cup campaign kicks off, with the team set to face Croatia in a group-stage match on Wednesday in Dallas.
