Eberechi Eze's Hat-Trick Secures Arsenal's Dominant Victory Over Spurs
Arsenal Triumphs with Eze's Stellar Performance
London [UK], November 24: Eberechi Eze's remarkable hat-trick propelled Arsenal to a commanding 4-1 victory against their northern London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, at the Emirates Stadium, reinforcing their position at the top of the Premier League.
On Sunday, Eze, who was once on the verge of joining Spurs before Arsenal secured his signing in August, showcased his talent with three stunning goals, reminding Tottenham of what they missed. This victory places Arsenal at the pinnacle of the league with nine wins, two draws, and one loss, totaling 29 points.
Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for Arsenal with a brilliant strike in the 36th minute.
In the 41st minute, Eze netted his first goal, skillfully placing the ball into the bottom corner. Just five minutes later, he added another to the tally. Eze continued his impressive performance by scoring again just 35 seconds into the second half, finding the corner with finesse.
Tottenham attempted a comeback when Richarlison scored with a lob from 35 yards in the 55th minute, narrowing the score to 3-1. However, Eze sealed the match for Arsenal with a stunning curling shot in the 76th minute, leaving Spurs' goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario with no chance.
Eze's hat-trick makes him the fourth Arsenal player to achieve this feat against Spurs, contributing to Arsenal's fourth victory in their last five encounters.
Currently, Spurs are positioned ninth in the league, with five wins, three draws, and four losses, accumulating 18 points.
After the match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his satisfaction to Sky Sports, stating, “I enjoyed every minute of it – the preparation since they returned from the international break, the energy I felt, the hunger to play, and the joy.”
He added, “Winning against our rivals in such a manner makes it a special day. We aimed to assert ourselves in every aspect, starting with intensity and precision, as the space is limited and aggression is high. They are a strong team, and we had to earn this victory.”
Arteta noted, “From the outset, we were strong and intense, showing patience. We looked dominant, scoring two goals in the first half, and maintained our consistency in the second half. While there are areas for improvement, it was an overall great performance.”
Eze, the standout player of the match, shared his excitement with Sky Sports, saying, “That was a good one. An enjoyable day. I’m happy to help the team and secure the win. It’s special; it’s what I prayed for. I prayed for my hat-trick, and I got it.”
He concluded, “Having all my family here makes it even more special to achieve this in front of them.”
