Drew McIntyre's Surprise Support for Rajasthan Royals

WWE star Drew McIntyre delighted fans in India by posting a picture wearing a t-shirt supporting Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. This gesture came just before the Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their Eliminator match. The post gained significant attention online, with RR captain Riyan Parag also reacting to it. McIntyre, a well-known figure in the wrestling world and a former world champion, has been taking a break following his loss at Wrestlemania 42.

Born on June 6, 1985, in Ayr, Scotland, McIntyre was passionate about wrestling from a young age. After extensive training in the UK, he joined WWE in 2007 and quickly made his way onto television. He spent time in OVW and FCW to master WWE's in-ring style and promos. McIntyre returned to Smackdown in 2009, where he captured the Intercontinental Championship and the tag team title, although he did not win a world championship during his initial WWE tenure. He formed a group called 3MB with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater but was released in 2014.

After his release, McIntyre found success in the independent circuit and TNA, which led to his return to WWE in 2017, this time in the NXT brand, where he won the NXT Championship.

He made his way back to the main roster in 2018, initially teaming with Dolph Ziggler before they parted ways. By early 2020, McIntyre had established himself as a formidable competitor, famously eliminating Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble, which secured him a spot in the main event at Wrestlemania 36, held in an empty arena due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

McIntyre's Championship Achievements

In 2020, he won the WWE Championship twice, although his title reigns occurred in empty venues. He later captured his third World Championship at Wrestlemania 40 in 2024, but his reign was short-lived as Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase just five minutes later. McIntyre also won the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes on the second Smackdown of 2026, only to lose it back to him after the Elimination Chamber. Following a defeat to Jacob Fatu at Wrestlemania 42, McIntyre has been on hiatus from WWE.
