Champions of the Men's Doubles 19+ Open


On March 1, Divy Tulsani and Nitin Jashnani emerged victorious in the Men's Doubles 19+ Open category at the PickleSpin PWR 50 Cup held in Kanpur. They secured the title by defeating Caitanya Kohli and Yash Trivedi with scores of 11-7 and 11-2 in the final match. This tournament, recognized by the Indian Pickleball Association, was a significant event for the local pickleball scene.


Divy and Nitin showcased their skills throughout the tournament, entering the knockout phase after a strong group stage where they only lost one match. In the final, they quickly established control, dictating the pace and keeping rallies brief, which led to errors from their opponents. The first game concluded with a score of 11-7, while the second game was decisively won at 11-2, highlighting their dominance.


Earlier in the day, they reached the finals by defeating Ayush Bansal and Varun Bhargava in the semifinals, winning 11-7 and 11-3, demonstrating their composure and sharpness. Caitanya and Yash also made it to the final after a hard-fought match against Siddhant Gupta and Vimanyu Agarwal, winning 11-3 and narrowly losing the second game 13-15.


During the group stage, Divy and Nitin were placed in Group 3, where they began their campaign against Aniket Agarwal and Nischay Khilwani. They later faced Caitanya and Yash in the group stage, winning that match 4-11, 11-6, 11-5, which provided them with crucial momentum heading into the knockout rounds. Caitanya and Yash also had a strong start, winning their initial match 11-2 and following it up with an impressive 11-2, 11-0 victory against Kinshuk Dixit and Sriyansh Tripathi.


Ultimately, Divy and Nitin's consistency and control throughout the tournament earned them the Men's Doubles 19+ Open title, while Caitanya and Yash finished as runners-up after a commendable performance.
