Ahmedabad, Nov 5: Divija Paul, India's leading Under-13 table tennis player, has continued her remarkable performance on the global stage by clinching the U13 Singles title at the WTT Youth Contender event held in Chennai. Additionally, she reached the semi-finals in the U15 Mixed Doubles category.

Representing the 'Garv Hai' athlete program by Adani Sportsline, the young talent from Assam participated in the tournament from October 23 to 26, further enhancing her international accolades.

This victory in Chennai marks Divija's second singles gold at the WTT Youth Contender series in a short span, following her earlier success in the U13 category in Puerto Princesa, Philippines. She has also earned gold medals in both U11 and U13 categories at WTT events in Vadodara in 2025 and 2026.

"Winning in Chennai while donning the 'Garv Hai' jersey is a memory I will cherish forever. The support from Adani Sportsline has instilled a belief in me that I can achieve victory. Every time I compete, that confidence accompanies me. I am grateful for their support to me and my family throughout this journey. My next focus is on the upcoming Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Championship in Jalandhar," expressed Divija.

A Class VII student at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) in Silchar, Divija began her journey in table tennis at the age of six. Her national breakthrough occurred in 2023 when she secured her first national title in the U11 category at Panchkula.

Since then, she has consistently progressed through various age groups, winning the U13 title at the UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championship in Delhi in 2025, followed by the U13 Doubles title at the UTT National Table Tennis Championship in Gandhidham later that year.

Earlier this month, she also earned a bronze medal in the U13 Girls category at the National Ranking Table Tennis Championship in Panchkula.

Through the 'Garv Hai' initiative, Adani Sportsline has been supporting Divija since September 2026 by providing her with top-notch equipment, travel assistance for both domestic and international competitions, and access to strength and conditioning facilities.

This support is designed to aid her ongoing development as she aspires to achieve her long-term goal of winning an Olympic gold medal for India.
