Diksha Dagar Shines with Strong Start at Jabra Ladies Open

Diksha Dagar delivered an impressive performance at the Jabra Ladies Open, finishing the first round with a score of 4-under 67. Her strong finish places her just one shot behind the leader, Norway's Dorthea Forbrigd, who carded a 5-under 66. Dagar's ambition to excel this season, particularly at the Women's Indian Open, is evident in her play. Other Indian golfers faced challenges, with Hitaashee Bakshi struggling at 8-over 79. As the tournament progresses, Dagar's strong start positions her well for a potential title run.
 

Diksha Dagar's Impressive Performance

Diksha Dagar showcased a remarkable finish, scoring a 4-under 67, which places her in a competitive position after the first round of the Jabra Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour.


Starting her round from the sixth tee at the Evian Golf Resort, the two-time LET champion combined consistent play with crucial birdies, concluding the day just one stroke behind the leader.


Diksha began her round with confidence, securing birdies on the seventh and ninth holes, followed by another on the 15th. Although she faced a setback with a bogey on the 17th, she bounced back strongly with consecutive birdies on her final two holes, the fourth and fifth, ending the day in second place.


Current Standings: Dagar and Forbrigd

Dagar has expressed her determination to perform well this season, particularly at the Women's Indian Open, and her display in France reflects that ambition.


Norway's Dorthea Forbrigd currently leads the clubhouse with an impressive 5-under 66, aiming for her first Ladies European Tour title. Forbrigd achieved six birdies and only one bogey in her strong opening round.


Danish golfer Sofie Kibsgaard also made a solid start, finishing with a score of 2-under 69.


Performance of Other Indian Golfers

Among the other Indian participants, Hitaashee Bakshi faced challenges, concluding her round with an 8-over 79, which puts her in a tough spot for the second round.


Avani Prashanth was even par after six holes, while Pranavi Urs was at 1-over after three holes.


With several players yet to start their rounds, Diksha's strong performance positions her well for the upcoming days of the tournament.
