Indian tennis player Dhakshineswar Suresh has been granted a wild card entry into the singles main draw for the 10th edition of the Bengaluru Open, set to take place from January 5-11, 2026, at the S M Krishna Tennis Stadium in Bengaluru.


The Journey of a Rising Star

Dhakshineswar has made significant strides in his professional career, earning accolades for his strong serve and aggressive gameplay. At 6'5", the 25-year-old was part of India's extended Davis Cup World Group I squad in 2024. He made a notable debut in September 2025 against Switzerland, where he triumphed over the higher-ranked Jerome Kym with a score of 7-6(4), 6-3, helping India secure a historic 3-1 victory on Swiss soil.

This year's Bengaluru Open is recognized as an ATP Challenger 125 event, featuring a prize pool exceeding USD 225,000 and 125 ATP ranking points for the singles champion. Dhakshineswar, who achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 519 in 2025, has shown competitive results in both the ITF and ATP Challenger circuits. His experience in the US collegiate tennis system, where he played for prominent programs at Wake Forest University and Georgia Gwinnett College, will also serve him well.
