Delhi Premier League Set to Begin

The eagerly awaited second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) is scheduled to commence on August 2 at the renowned Arun Jaitley Stadium. The opening match will feature a thrilling contest between the South Delhi Superstartz and the East Delhi Riders.


With the tournament just around the corner, captains from various teams have shared their excitement. As teams finalize their preparations, fans can anticipate an exhilarating start to this year's DPL.


Harshit Rana, the captain of the North Delhi Strikers, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "From the moment I arrived and met the team, I felt a genuine sense of happiness. I had a vision and a strong desire for everyone to unite with the same passion for practice. Many of us travel long distances to participate, and witnessing that same level of dedication from everyone was truly meaningful to me."


Meanwhile, Anuj Rawat, captain of the East Delhi Riders, praised teammate Navdeep Saini for his commitment, saying, "As captain, I am pleased with our preparation. I want to highlight Navdeep Saini's work ethic; despite being a senior player, he has shown incredible dedication and eagerness to perform. It's inspiring to have such commitment in our squad, and I feel fortunate to lead such a motivated group."


Nitish Rana, skipper of the West Delhi Lions, shared his thoughts on the tournament, stating, "Upon joining the camp, I was unfamiliar with many players since I am returning after two years. However, the talent I encountered was impressive, with some players from the Under-19 and Under-23 categories, along with a few veterans from last season. The depth of talent in my team fills me with excitement, and as a captain, having numerous match-winning options boosts my confidence immensely."


Ayush Badoni, captain of the South Delhi Superstarz, echoed Rana's sentiments, noting, "We were pleased with our auction results, successfully acquiring the players we targeted. The team atmosphere is fantastic, and everyone is focused and driven. Our ultimate aim is clear: to win the trophy."


Vansh Bedi, leading Purani Dilli 6, remarked, "I am thrilled with how our preparations are progressing. The team is bonding well, both on and off the field. There is a strong sense of unity, and everyone is committed to understanding each other's gameplay, which is essential for our success."


Siddhant Sharma, captain of the Outer Delhi Warriors, stated, "The auction was a success for us, as we secured most of our desired players. The team atmosphere is electric, with everyone working towards the same goal. We are aiming for nothing less than the championship."


Himmat Singh, captain of the New Delhi Tigers, expressed satisfaction with his team's readiness, saying, "I am pleased to see the boys fully prepared. I am also grateful for the excellent facilities provided by our support staff and ownership, which significantly contribute to our readiness."


Lastly, Jonty Sidhu, captain of the Central Delhi Kings, added, "We are performing well. Despite the challenging weather conditions, our support staff has been exceptional in preparing the ground. We believe we have assembled a strong and balanced team."
