The captain of Delhi Capitals (DC), Axar Patel, along with prominent bowler Kuldeep Yadav, shared their enthusiasm as the team prepares for its opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 1 in Lucknow. Axar expressed that the team is 'very excited' about the upcoming season, noting, 'It's a new squad. Most of the players from last time are the same. We are really looking forward to this journey.' This statement was made during the renewal event for the DP World-Delhi Capitals global logistics partnership held in New Delhi on Saturday.

Axar Patel Highlights Teamwork

Axar Patel emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating that while players on the field receive recognition, the team's achievements rely heavily on the combined efforts of both players and support staff. He remarked, 'As a leader, you understand that the success of the 11 players on the field is visible to everyone. However, we must acknowledge the hard work of our support staff off the field. Winning a tournament requires a collective effort. Individually, one can shine in a few matches, but to secure the entire tournament, a complete team effort is essential.'

Kuldeep Yadav Excited for Training

Kuldeep Yadav also conveyed his eagerness to return to training, stating that the team's focus is now directed towards the IPL. 'The focus now shifts to the IPL, and it's wonderful to see my teammates training effectively. It's great to be back,' Kuldeep mentioned.
