Delhi Capitals Gear Up for a Critical Match

The Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to seek a much-needed victory as they prepare to face the Mumbai Indians (MI) in a crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Reflecting on their season and the upcoming clash, DC's bowling coach Munaf Patel acknowledged the mounting pressure. He stated, “There’s definitely some pressure since this is a must-win game for us. A loss here would mean elimination from the tournament,” as per a press release from the team.

Patel continued, “We have made some errors and missed opportunities, but the team spirit remains high, and we are optimistic. Our focus is solely on the next match.”

He also praised wicket-keeper KL Rahul for his outstanding performance, saying, “He has been exceptional, adapting to various batting positions while consistently scoring runs. He has stepped up whenever the team needed him, and his contributions have been invaluable.”

Regarding the absence of pacer Mitchell Starc, Patel remarked, “Starc is a key player for us, known for his speed and swing. Playing in Mumbai, where conditions favor bounce and swing, his absence is significant. However, we will explore other options to fill the gap.”

Currently, the Delhi Capitals hold the fifth position in the points table, having accumulated 13 points from 12 matches.
