Deepti Sharma Climbs to Second in ICC Women's T20I Bowling Rankings
Deepti Sharma's Impressive Rise in Rankings
Indian off-spinner Deepti Sharma has ascended to the second position in the ICC Women's T20 International bowling rankings, bringing her closer to achieving the top rank for the first time in her career. Her recent performance, which included three wickets in the third match of the five-match T20I series against England, has boosted her to 738 rating points, just eight points shy of Pakistan's Sadia Iqbal, who leads with 746 points.
Over the past six years, Deepti has consistently ranked among the top 10 T20I bowlers but has yet to reach the number one spot despite her strong performances. Following the latest ICC update, she has moved up one position, displacing Australia's Annabel Sutherland to third. Deepti now has a prime opportunity to secure the top rank by excelling in the remaining matches of the series against England.
In addition, India's right-arm pace bowler Arundhati Reddy made a significant leap, rising 11 spots to 43rd in the T20I bowling rankings after taking three wickets in her recent match at The Oval. Among the batters, Jemimah Rodrigues has improved her standing, moving up two places to 12th after scoring a half-century in the second match of the series in Bristol. The top 10 batting rankings remain unchanged, with Australian batter Beth Mooney holding the top position with 794 rating points.
