Cristiano Ronaldo Eyes 2030 World Cup Participation Amidst Stellar Form
Ronaldo's Ambitious World Cup Aspirations
Cristiano Ronaldo, now 41, is gearing up to represent Portugal in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026. However, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner surprised fans globally on Monday night by hinting at the possibility of extending his career to the 2030 World Cup, provided he maintains his impressive form. He stated, "I haven’t completely ruled out the possibility of playing in the 2030 World Cup. If I keep scoring every week at 41, maybe I COULD play for another four years," as reported by DAZN.
In the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, Portugal will compete against Colombia, Uzbekistan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Despite reaching 40, Ronaldo has shown no signs of slowing down. A fitness technology company revealed that his biological age is significantly younger than his chronological age. According to Whoop, a brand he endorses, his biological age is assessed at 28.9 years, which is over a decade younger than his actual age. Upon discovering this, Ronaldo expressed disbelief, saying, "I can't believe it's so good. 28.9." He even mentioned the possibility of playing until he is 50.
Next year, Ronaldo will make history by participating in the FIFA World Cup for a record sixth time, as he aims to secure the coveted title with Portugal for the first time. However, he has also been contemplating life after football for quite some time. In a conversation with journalist Piers Morgan on his YouTube channel 'Piers Morgan Uncensored', he shared, "Soon. I think I will be prepared. I will cry, yes. I am an easy guy to cry. I am honest. I am an open person. It will be very, very difficult. I prepared for my future from 25-26-27 years old. I think I will be capable of supporting my future." While he acknowledges that nothing can replace the joy football brings him, Ronaldo expressed a strong desire to focus on family and spend quality time with his children.
