Following this, the BCCI imposed a fine on him, stating, "Riyan Parag, Captain of Rajasthan Royals, has been fined 25% of his match fee and received one demerit point for violating Level 1 of the IPL's Code of Conduct during Match No. 40 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Punjab Kings. He breached Article 2.21, which pertains to 'conduct that brings the game into disrepute.'" Parag acknowledged his wrongdoing and accepted the penalty from Match Referee Amit Sharma. The BCCI is also considering further actions against the team and its officials to uphold the integrity of the IPL. Level 1 violations result in a 25% deduction from match fees and one demerit point," the BCCI stated.
