Yuvraj Sandhu's Final Round Struggles
Belek, Turkey - May 3: Yuvraj Sandhu faced a challenging final round at the 2026 Turkish Airlines Open, where he was on the verge of a top-10 finish as he entered the back nine.
After completing the first three rounds with scores of 69, 71, and 71, Sandhu found himself in the top-10. He maintained this position even after ten holes in the final round. However, his performance took a downturn with a double bogey followed by four additional bogeys, countered by just one birdie. He ended the day with a score of 5-over 77, bringing his total to even par for the tournament, which resulted in a drop to T-43, losing 34 spots.
Shubhankar Sharma finished in T-65 with a total score of 2-over, having carded rounds of 70, 75, 74, and 74.
Mikael Lindberg celebrated his first title on the DP World Tour, securing a two-stroke victory at the 2026 Turkish Airlines Open, which also earned him a spot in the upcoming US PGA Championship.
In his 70th appearance on the DP World Tour, the Swedish golfer clinched the win with a final round of 69, finishing at ten under par at the National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya.
At 33 years old, Lindberg's victory places him at the top of the Asian Swing Rankings, granting him his debut in a Major Championship at the US PGA Championship in two weeks. He will be joined by Austrian Bernd Wiesberger and American Jordan Gumberg, who secured second and third places in the rankings, respectively.
The clubhouse target was initially set at seven under by Jacob Skov Olesen, later matched by Darius van Driel and Ewen Ferguson. However, the competition ultimately narrowed down to Lindberg, Rodrigues, and Guido Migliozzi, with the latter sitting at eight under and three strokes behind Lindberg with three holes remaining.
Rodrigues and Migliozzi finished tied for second at eight under, followed by Ferguson, Van Driel, and Olesen.
