Yuki Bhambri Advances in Mixed Doubles
Yuki Bhambri from India has made an impressive start at the 2026 French Open, successfully moving into the second round of the mixed doubles event after winning his first match in men's doubles. Partnering with Russian player Alexandra Panova, Bhambri triumphed over the duo of David Pel from the Netherlands and Ukraine's Lyudmyla Kichenok. The match took place on Court No. 5 at the renowned Stade Roland Garros, where the Indian-Russian pair secured victory in straight sets, both decided by tie-breaks (7-6, 7-6). They dominated the first set tie-break 7-2 and clinched the second set 7-6. The match lasted for one hour and 50 minutes. In the next round, they will face the fourth-seeded team of Desirae Krawczyk from the USA and Neal Skupski from the UK. This marks Bhambri's debut in mixed doubles at Roland Garros, and he has now reached the second round in this category at a Grand Slam for the second time, following his performance at Wimbledon last year.

Two Indians In Second Round Of Men's Doubles
In addition to his mixed doubles success, Bhambri has also advanced to the second round of the men's doubles alongside New Zealand's Michael Venus. They overcame the Argentine team of Francisco Cerundolo and Mariano Kestelboim. The duo is set to compete against the fifth-seeded pair of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in their next match. Bhambri is one of two Indian players progressing to the second round in men's doubles, with N. Sriram Balaji also moving forward after teaming up with Brazil's Marcelo Demoliner. The Indo-Brazilian pair won their opening match against Constantin Frantzen from Germany and Robin Haase from the Netherlands in a closely contested three-set match, finishing with scores of 6-3, 4-6, and 6-3. Unfortunately, Anirudh Chandrasekar, the only other Indian to qualify for the main draw in senior events, was eliminated in the first round of men's doubles. He lost alongside Japan's Takeru Yuzuki to Marcus Willis from Great Britain and Jakub Paul from Switzerland, with a final score of 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (10-3).
